After a few hours of extra development, I've finally finished a first custom datatype, which I've now called 'Codepicker'. Basically, this custom datatype allows developers to create any number of custom dropdowns, holding a series of values populated from a database rather than entering all static values manually, as you normally would with a dropdownlist.
