the 'ultimate navigation'

Posted on Sunday, October 12, 2008

A great idea, a great forum and community. Put those two together and you'll get a new package, called the 'ultimateNav'. Have a look at the article about how to install and use it. If you think it could even be optimized or want something else to be included, feel free to add a comment here. I'm sure we can add some more useful stuff.

Hi Dirk,

You don't provide link to original post on forum, so I didn't know Bob's requirements :-(

I absolutely have no idea about stealing code. I only recommend add code which add special classes like selected and child-selected which enable better styling using css.

I have not installed U4 yet, so I cannot try it.

Hi Petr,

I agree that I should at least have said something about those 5! (yes, 5) js files.

But, maybe you should know a bit more about how this package has evolved from a simple question on the forum to what it is now.

Bob just came up with the idea, I just jumped chimed in to help him out with his xslt fight/struggle. Yes, you have done something similar, but didn't take those requirements into account, did you?. Hmm, did I steal your code? Nope, I wasn't even aware of that. And neither was Bob apparently (Post is about 6 months old).

Bottom line here is: Bob did the styling, and he did a great job, I did the xslt part, and that's why I wish to blog about the xslt rather than about the styling part. Does that make sense now?

I appreciate your honest opinion though.

Regards.

You can add special classes to enable better css styling, something like

Also in article you also don't cover what 5! js files do. Link to demo and original post on forum can be fine.
